Hey CrackBerry Fam,
It’s been a minute. I apologize for the lack of communication. Shortly after the CrackBerry 2.0 relaunch announcement went out to the world early this year, the time I had to dedicate to the project all but evaporated. I’ve been heads down on a new business start-up (still in stealth mode) for the last six months that has been soaking up most of my time and energy. With CrackBerry being my passion project, that means the CB2 relaunch took a back seat. Which totally sucks.Â
Failure to launch is NOT AN OPTION though, and I promised y’all that a CrackBerry 2.0 would come to the world this year.Â
So on that note, today I’m putting out the SOS call and asking for HELP.
While it’s going to take the efforts of many people to make CrackBerry an addictive destination location again, first up, I’m looking for one exceptional (and slightly crazy) individual to be my CrackBerry Co-Captain as we finish rebuilding this ship and set off into unchartered waters.Â
Here are the qualities and experience I’m looking for in my Co-Captain:
You’re a misfit. You’re a character. You feel slightly out of place in the normal world (the square peg trying to be shoved into a round hole).
You have experience in media publishing - you’ve built and launched websites and communities, can develop editorial plans, manage writers, etc.
You’re a solid enough content creator with a voice - you’re comfortable writing and editing, can knock together a video, be on a podcast, and enjoy putting yourself and your (well-formed) opinions out there and defending them.
You have thick skin.
You’re typically an early adopter and annoyingly passionate about awesome products and services.Â
While it’s not imperative, it would be awesome if you’re also an ex-BlackBerry junky that has some warm fuzzy feelings of the early CrackBerry days.
You’re willing and able to dedicate the time and energy needed to make this happen.
I’m not sure this person exists, but if you read all that and think it applies to you and your interest is piqued, send an email to cbk@crackberry.com with the subject line I’m The Crazy You’re Looking For. If you have a resume, feel free to attach it, but my preference would be that you write me a punchy paragraph or two about your experience and why you’d actually want to go on this adventure with me.Â
If all goes well, I hope my next update will come soon and I’ll be able to say Welcome Aboard to my new co-captain along with some of our updated CB 2.0 launch plans. Â
Cheers,
CBK
That's not me, since I'm an introvert and have no interest in being on the air, but good luck finding someone. :)
So glad this didn't go the way of Onward Mobility! Thanks for the news, Kevin. Hope some other enterprising individual can do this. Keep plugging!
